Our Story

Who we are

We’re so excited to tell you about the amazing work that the Ashland County Land Bank is doing!

Our goal is to turn vacant and distressed properties into valuable assets for our community.

We were established under Ohio Revised Code 1724 and have been working tirelessly since our first meeting in April 2018 to revitalize Ashland County. Our team is dedicated to reclaiming abandoned properties and making sure they are put to good use.

We want to make sure our land is used efficiently and has a positive impact on our community.

The Ashland County Land Bank claims another revitalized property

How can we help you?

We specialize in these three things

Property Donation

This can help you pay less in taxes and make your community better.

Demolition

We get rid of buildings that are not safe or wanted, making room for new things.

Vacant Lot Sales

If you want to build something new, we have empty land for you to buy. Check out our available lots.

Our basic process

What does our land bank do every day?

The process starts when a property is either:

Donated to us

Comes our way through tax forclosure

Step 1

First, we take title and get custody of the land, making sure we own it cleanly.

Step 2

Next, we take care of any paperwork and taxes so that the new owners don’t have to worry about it.

Step 3

Then, we make the property better by fixing it up and making it safe. We can even supervise demolitions, help with big projects, or make it available for public use.

Step 4

Finally, when it’s time to sell, we make sure to choose a buyer who will be good for the community, not just the one who offers the most money. Plus, we hold it tax free until we find the perfect buyer.

You can trust us to take care of all the hard work while you and our great community get to enjoy the benefits.
