The next board meeting is scheduled for:
Friday, Sept 20, 2024, at 9:00 AM, in the Ashland County Land Bank Conference Room
The Ashland County Land Bank was formed according Ohio Revised Code 1724. The Ashland Land Bank Board of Directors consists of three statutory members, including the County Treasurer and two County Commissioners. A representative of the largest city in the county is the fourth member. Remaining members were chosen by the three statutory members.
Since its first meeting in April of 2018, the board has established policies and procedures, selected legal counsel and continues to make organizational decisions.
Ashland County Land Bank’s goal is to help return vacant, distressed properties to productive use. This involves acquiring properties and often managing the demolition of unwanted, blighted residential structures. Our goal is not to hold properties for extended periods of time, but instead to transfer the land to interested and eligible landowners.
We can receive properties by several processes including tax foreclosure, purchase or donation.
As of October 2020, ACLRC has facilitated the reutilization of 13 properties: 11 within City of Ashland limits, one in Rowsburg and one in Hayesville. Collectively, the projects have returned delinquent properties to the tax-card, improved neighborhood safety and property values, added residential housing and supported local government projects and small business expansion.
